An innovation assignment. How clarity became the most valuable deliverable.

The Setup

Neuro had what most brands would kill for: the #1 consumer brand on TikTok Shop, category leadership in energy gum and mints, e-commerce exploding, a product pipeline full of promising ideas, and dedicated investors. The problem was not building momentum. It was knowing where to wind it up and point it.

Neuro had been on fire since Shark Tank. Sleep, mood, energy, adjacent formats, each one represented a legitimate path forward, all backed by real consumer demand and a team genuinely excited about the space.

Without clarity about sequence and optionality, that excitement was in danger of being pointed in too many directions.

The Brief

Not more options.
A clear answer.

Dovetail was brought in on a focused innovation assignment: assess the landscape across Neuro's highest-potential need states, apply rigorous frameworks to the team's existing thinking, and produce a sequenced roadmap that leadership could commit to, defend, and deliver.

The deliverable was not a longer list of ideas. It was a defensible answer to the question every investor eventually asks: why these, why now, and in what order?

How We Worked

We did not generate more ideas.
We designed the conditions for fewer, better ones.

We started by quantifying the landscape. Where did Neuro have a genuine right to win, and where was the white space more wishful than real?

Shared facts came first, because clarity cannot be built on contested assumptions. Once the team was looking at the same landscape, the conversation shifted from "which idea do we like" to "which opportunity can we actually own."

From there, we applied frameworks that did the work of sequencing. Not to generate options, Neuro had plenty of those, but to collapse them into a defensible order. What builds the foundation? What does that foundation unlock? What do we preserve the right to pursue once the earlier phases have done their job? Then we were off to the races.
